1. Koh Phangan, Thailand

The biggest and most famous party in Asia is Koh Phangan’s Full Moon Party. Every month on the night of the full moon around 20,000 people from all over the world gather Koh Phangan for what has been called “the ultimate party experience”. The Full Moon party is so big, it’s a destination in itself and people come to Thailand specifically to experience Full Moon.

2. Chiang Mai, Thailand

Songkran is Thailand’s New Year’s celebration and the best place to experience this six day party is in the northern city of Chiang Mai. One of the main ways to celebrate Songkran is to throw water on people which basically turns the country into a big water party. People roam the streets with water guns and buckets of water, spraying and dunking people at random. There are rituals and religious ceremonies during Songkran for the locals, but most foreigners come to this New Year’s celebration to party hard and be a part of what might just be the biggest water fight in the world.

3. Vang Vieng, Laos

Partying literally dominates this little town in central Laos as there is not much else to do there. It’s even been called a ‘rite of passage’ for anyone traveling to Southeast Asia and looking for a party. One of the best ways to get your party on here is to go tubing. You can rent tractor tire tubes and drink your way down the river, stopping along the way at bars for Lao whiskey shots and buckets of Lao whiskey and coke.

4. Perhentian Kecil, Malaysia

Perhentian Kecil is one of the most popular islands in Southeast Asia for backpackers. It has cheap accommodation, beautiful beaches, diving and after the sun goes down, parties. There are bars along the beach that turn up the music and the party usually lasts all night long. Many visitors bring their own alcohol from the mainland as it can be expensive on the Island.

5. Khao San Road, Bangkok

Khao San Road is where the party scene is in Bangkok. With cheap drinks, great music and visitors from all over the world, it’s a lively circus and a wild place to be when the sun goes down.

6. Gili Trawangan, Indonesia

Gili Trawangan schedules its parties so that everyone knows where to find them. The bars take turns hosting the all night parties and there are several held each week. When you get there, ask just about anybody and they’ll be able to tell you where to find that night’s party location.

7. Pham Ngu Lao, Saigon

Just about everybody who wants to party in Saigon gathers in the Pham Ngu Lao district. There are clubs, open air bars, drinking in the streets and cheap food.

Kuta is party central on Bali. In fact, partying is one of its main attractions. It is full of travelers looking to have a good time and is especially popular with the younger crowd. The partying starts late here, around midnight, and goes until the early hours of the morning.

Seoul is a city that loves to drink. It is filled with bars and clubs of all kinds and there are always plenty of parties to hop. Seoul’s Hongdae district is probably the biggest party scene in the city. It’s filled with tons of bars, clubs and restaurants and is especially popular with the University crowd. The Gangnam district also has a great party scene Most clubs and bars are open until morning people are just getting up.
